ABOUT LUCY ATKINS
I am a passionate and committed Music Technology Student who enjoys organising and setting up live performances. I also record and produce artists in College and at local studios.
I am a driven individual that always cares for people around me and is a team player.
My future goals are to be involved in a touring crew as a: Roadie, Rigger, Front of House, Stage Crew and Pyrotechnics.
Also, planning the stage arrangement would be very interesting to me.
I also have studied Sports Coaching and have found a real love for Sports Massage and Personal Training. I would be enthusiastic to work with an artist and to keep them physically and mentally healthy.
Showcase of My Work
EMPOWERING WOMEN IN THE TECH INDUSTRY
One of my current projects is working with women who want to start their journey in Music Technology. To help them we have provided resources such as iPads and music softwares such as Reaper and Logic Pro X. To enhance their skills and guide them through techniques that will be used in the industry. We are spending 10 weeks to discover what passions they have, and what careers the students would like to explore further.
NOISE SOLUTION - THE BEHAVIOURAL INSIGHTS TEAM
I also have been working with the Noise Solution team to help improve their understanding on the benefit of music in young individual's lives. Providing analysis, ideas and opinions about the psychological benefits of music sessions to help with their research on the Self Determination Theory. This we have worked on with the members of The Behavioural Insights Team who improve people's lives and communities.
They work in partnership with governments, local authorities, businesses and charities often using small changes to tackle major policy problems.
FOLEY - MAXIMUS SHORT FILM
Most recently I have been involved in a Short Film: Maximus.
I have been working in the Sound Department completing Foley for the film. It has been a challenge that I have embraced with hard work and commitment. I have started to create my own catalogue of sounds to use in the future!
This has been my first filming experience and now I am have IMDb.
MUSICAL: 'WE WILL ROCK YOU'
My most current work has involved working on the Musical: 'We Will Rock You' - a Queen classic!
I have been set the task of being the head of sound this includes monitoring wedges, positioning microphones for various instruments, organising and reviewing the stage plan, delegating positions of my tech team, FOH mixing, communicating with other departments.
I have been impressed with the work on the musical so far, it has been a very welcoming experience and I have gained more confidence over time. It is also a new experience to have a leading role in a department and I have been thankful for this opportunity. I am very excited and proud to produce the sound for this musical!
"I mentored Lucy for over 10 weeks, the project was based around early-career music tech practitioners exploring the studio as a creative tool. I was extremely impressed with her commitment, work ethic, creativity and professional attitude, a complete joy to work with."

Skills & Expertise
This project was a 10 week initiative to improve my musical skills. I was tutored by industry professionals to refine my skills in producing and writing music. I have built a variety of contacts through this course whom I am continuing to work with. Noise Solution has opened up so many doors for me providing different opportunities to explore.
SPORTS COACHING BTEC DIPLOMA LEVEL 3
This was a 2 year qualification that has enabled me to learn various subjects within Sport such as Phycology, Personal Training and Sports Massage. It has been beneficial when linking careers with the entertainment industry as I can provide personal training and sports massage sessions with the client.
